How We Calculate Game Scores
A transparent look at our methodology for aggregating streamer opinions into a single, trustworthy score.
Traditional game reviews come from professional journalists who often have different priorities than everyday gamers. At StreamerVerdict, we believe the content creators you already watch and trust provide more relevant opinions.
Our scoring system aggregates verdicts from trusted streamers to give you an honest, community-driven score that reflects what real players think.
1. Curated Streamer Selection
We monitor a curated list of trusted content creators across YouTube and Twitch. These are established reviewers known for honest, in-depth game analysis — not just hype or drama.
Our selection criteria:
- Minimum 1 year of consistent game review content
- Demonstrated expertise in their genre(s)
- No history of undisclosed sponsored reviews
- Active community engagement
2. AI-Powered Analysis
When a streamer posts a review, we analyze the video transcript using AI to extract:
- Overall verdict and score (0-100) — We normalize different rating scales to a consistent 0-100
- Sentiment (positive, mixed, negative) — The overall tone of the review
- Key pros and cons mentioned — What the streamer loved or hated
- Notable quotes and highlights — Direct quotes that capture their opinion
3. Human Verification
Every AI-extracted score is reviewed by our admin team before publication. We:
- Verify the score accurately reflects the streamer's opinion
- Check for context issues (sarcasm, partial reviews, etc.)
- Ensure the game mapping is correct
- Add any missing details or corrections
This human-in-the-loop approach ensures quality while keeping the process scalable.
4. Score Aggregation
The final score is calculated as a simple average of all verified streamer scores:
Global Score = Σ(Streamer Scores) / Number of ReviewsWe don't weight by subscriber count or views — every trusted voice counts equally. This prevents popular creators from dominating the score.
Category Breakdowns
Beyond the global score, we also calculate category-specific scores. If you primarily care about what "Souls-like experts" or "RPG enthusiasts" think, you can see scores filtered by streamer categories.
Each streamer is tagged with their areas of expertise, allowing for personalized score filtering.
