Our analysis

A loving throwback to 1990s survival horror that nails the nostalgic feel with pre-rendered backgrounds, fixed camera angles, clever puzzles, strong exploration, and a haunting score. It stumbles in combat, however: enemies are too numerous and fast with no slow buildup, the clunky aiming causes cheap deaths, and the merged tank-and-modern control scheme feels unnatural. Worth picking up for genre fans willing to accept some frustration.
