A disappointing evolution survival game that feels more like a university exhibit on human evolution than something fun to play. The skill tree and sensory progression are genuinely clever, but ugly visuals, miserable clunky combat that hinges on letting go of buttons, no save system, and a punishing loop that strips away skill points on generational jumps make the first several hours a tedious grind. An experience rather than a game, and too much work to recommend.
Our analysis
This third-person survival game about guiding early hominids through evolution has a well-realized ancient jungle, alive with ambient sound and swelling music, and is surprisingly educational. The satisfying climbing rhythm is undercut by an uncomfortably close camera, frustrating combat, slow sense-mode exploration, and needlessly sluggish progression. At heart it is a dawdling survival experience that never gives enough incentive to keep playing.
Our analysis
This wildly ambitious survival game tosses you into the perspective of early humans with almost no guidance, and the thrill of decoding its mechanics yourself produces genuine aha moments. The world is beautiful, the tree-swinging traversal exhilarating, and it feels unlike any other survival game. But the core loop is repetitive, slow, and grindy, the ground combat unfun, and the brutal progression makes the long journey feel unrewarding.
