The best the series has ever been, arriving with a big visual leap and a host of streamlined conveniences alongside its calming charm. New additions like crafting, the Nook Miles trophy system, and terraforming give players freedom to play at any pace and shape their island. Some friction lingers, however, with breakable tools, unskippable visitor cinematics, and long-winded conversations that needlessly slow the minute-to-minute routine.
