Our analysis

A simplified-input 2D fighter that leans on spacing and timing rather than complex motions, with a solid roster of indie guests like Shovel Knight and Isaac who each play distinctly. The fighting mechanics are fun, but the single-player modes are bare-bones and unsatisfying. Lacking both hardcore depth and casual content at a price too high for a casual pickup, it ends up a decent but simplistic fighter unsure of where it fits.
