Blasphemous II

A stellar sequel that sticks to the exquisitely dark, gory pixel-art style of the original while meaningfully improving on it. The shift from a single sword to three upgradeable weapons gives combat far more depth, and the platforming and environmental puzzling feel more cohesive and fluid, wrapped in a richly detailed, lore-soaked world with new magic prayers and buffs. Performance is mostly smooth with only minor slowdown and a camera glitch, making it a resounding triumph and one of the best action platformers on Switch.

A refined, highly enjoyable Metroidvania-Souls hybrid sequel that improves on the original with three distinct weapons tied to puzzle-solving and tighter platforming, strong world-building, gorgeous pixel art, and excellent audio. Difficulty sits comfortably middle-of-the-road, and there is plenty of replayable content. It plays a little safe at times, leaning on too many returning enemies, but fans of the first game will find more than enough here.

A strong sequel and a clear improvement over the original, with deeper, more satisfying combat built around three distinct starting weapons, magic, and parry-driven combos. Its uniquely realized baroque world rewards attentive, puzzle-like exploration, and performance is rock solid across a roughly 30-hour skill-based map. The relentlessly dark, symbol-heavy design can numb players and the audio is merely serviceable, but at its price it offers excellent value.
