Our analysis

A refined, largely excellent throwback to classic Castlevania, with strong, demanding level design and a versatile four-character crew whose distinct abilities make picking the right hero for each situation deeply satisfying, especially in two-player co-op. Detailed sprites and a phenomenal soundtrack honor its retro roots. The main drawback is the padded episodic structure, which sends you back through the same stages with tweaks rather than fresh areas.
