Mack calls Catastronauts a fun Overcooked-style local co-op ship-defense game that is fantastic with three or four players, but frustratingly hard with two and not for solo play, and he thumbs it down for lacking online multiplayer.

Our analysis

A fun, hectic party game in the vein of Overcooked that swaps food orders for space-ship combat, tasking players with firing guns and repairing damage in a satisfying risk-and-reward loop. With up to four-player local multiplayer it really shines, though there is no online mode. Single player lets the side down badly, spiking in difficulty and becoming frustrating due to the awkward character-swap mechanic, but its competitive pricing makes it an attractive impulse buy for groups.
