3 of 3A deep, long zombie-annihilation game with impressive crowds of enemies, deep crafting and combo systems, vehicles, and drop-in multiplayer, backed by excellent music and solid voice work. Held back by an overly close camera, fiddly item pickup, dated 720p visuals, and a flat by-the-numbers story. A buy with caveats for its length and fun factor.
A shallow, button-mashing open-world zombie game that runs as an awful, half-baked PC port locked at 30fps with a terrible field of view and broken mouse aiming that only feels right on a controller. The massive on-screen zombie hordes look impressive, but you can run through them without a scratch, and the laughable story, repetitive combat, and sloppy boss fights leave it feeling like a cynical, console-targeted cash-in. Best avoided by PC gamers who want depth, control, and immersion.
A zombie action game whose simplified combo-weapon system removes the experimentation and meaty challenge of its predecessor, making it too easy to load up and grow dull. Unintuitive map design, constant roadblocks, and cumbersome NPC followers in vehicles add petty frustrations, while the plot is a half-hearted parade of people turning evil for stupid reasons. Plowing through hordes in a combo vehicle still offers occasional cathartic highlights.
