Our analysis

An excellent Western tactical stealth game with large, thoughtfully designed levels, gorgeous heavily-saturated art, outstanding spaghetti-Western music, and a satisfying showdown planning system across a varied cast of characters. Enemies are smartly placed with overlapping sightlines, and adjustable difficulty plus replay tools make perfecting levels addictive. Throwaway main characters, occasionally finicky distraction placement, and some soft textures are minor blemishes on a great experience.

Our analysis

A fantastic hardcore stealth tactics game with brilliant, brutally difficult level design and huge maps packed with interlocking enemies. The distinct cast each bring memorable abilities that combine beautifully, and the showdown mode for queuing up synchronized takedowns is a standout. It looks nice, sounds great, and is best on mouse and keyboard, delivering hours of demanding but immensely satisfying play that's well worth the price.

Our analysis

Yahtzee finds Desperados 3 a save-scumming puzzle game that rewards memorization over strategy, frustrated by enemy visibility cones and Cock-Up Cascade design.
