Donkey Kong

Far more than a simple sequel to the arcade original, this Game Boy title adds a metric ton of new puzzle-platforming features, an expanded moveset for Mario, and 97 new levels across nine varied worlds while keeping the arcadey feel intact. The graphics and music are outstanding for a 1994 release, and it remains incredibly fun to play despite an overabundance of extra lives. One of the best Mario games ever made.
