An excellent sequel that refines nearly everything from the first game, with a flexible Homunculus combat system that lets players pick their style, precise controls, a smartly designed map, and extensive difficulty tuning. The visuals are stunning, with vibrant color-palette swaps and a borderline-perfect soundtrack. Its main weakness is familiarity: it plays it a little safe and feels very much like more of the same rather than a bold leap forward.
