    Our analysis

    While EverQuest is historically important and provides a solid foundation for the MMO genre, it has not aged well for modern players. The game is caught between classic and modern design philosophies, making it appealing to very few people. Solo play is lonely, grindy, and slow; grouping requires finding players outside the game via Discord. Better alternatives exist in the modern MMO landscape.
