Fable II

A solid sequel whose streamlined, more satisfying combat, quality-of-life fast travel, and deep life-sim empire-building stand out, with the persistent offline economy and interactive world being its biggest strengths. The narrative is weaker, pushing a more linear path padded by renown grinding, with a weak villain in Lucian and a rushed, unsatisfying ending. Co-op is welcome but flawed, hampered by a shared camera and a sidekick limited to combat. Enjoyable, but the first game's bolder choices are missed.
