The core driving is excellent — strong AI, satisfying handling, and meaningful tuning, helped by a superb DualSense controller. But the game is crippled by design choices: custom races are locked to cars and tracks you must grind to unlock, leaving you unable to simply pick a favorite car and circuit, and it is bloated with filler menus, predatory microtransactions, and a steep grind on top of a high price. A fun racer wrapped in a frustrating, grindy structure.
