More of a hunting game than a pure action RPG, blending crazy boss fights, gorgeous anime style, and a roster of incredibly distinct, build-deep characters with a Monster Hunter-style questing loop that keeps on giving well past the short story. PC runs buttery smooth while Steam Deck is merely playable. The main drawbacks are a short campaign and a limited boss roster you fight repeatedly, making the grind feel repetitive, yet it remains a top-tier, addictive title.

A solid refresh for the former gacha series, trimming the story into a lean 15-20 hour action RPG with gorgeous aesthetics, vibrant battles, and bombastic music. Combat is fast and furious with fun link attacks and skybound arts, though button-mashing can feel mindless and longer fights monotonous. The streamlined structure lacks meaningful difficulty in the main story, but it doesn't revolutionize the franchise so much as competently refresh it.
