Guild of Darksteel

Our analysis

A short story-driven action adventure with a captivating macabre atmosphere and decent writing, but built on flawed systems that undercut it. Combat relies on repetitive parry patterns that grow tedious, the leveling gives no feedback, you can never actually jump gaps, and earned coins have nowhere to be spent. Backtracking with respawning enemies and a grating, looping battle track wear thin, leaving an interesting world that never quite ties together.
