Our analysis

A slick-looking, content-rich tactical mercenary game with great attention to detail, strong audio, and a compelling turn-based simulation that omits hit-percentages to keep missing tense and meaningful. However, it overwhelms with dense, poorly onboarded systems, punishes experimentation, and is brutally hard, and a money-starved economy plus a grim, attrition-heavy reward loop raise doubts about long-term enjoyment. Likely to appeal mainly to patient, hardcore players rather than everyone.

Our analysis

A genuine, highly recommended successor to the franchise with a hilarious, fully voiced cast of mercenaries and a decent unfolding story set in Africa. It blends real-time stealth and setup with deep turn-based, action-point combat, plus stats, perks, crafting, and an active strategic map. Challenging but fair even on normal difficulty, it is one of the best games of the year for turn-based strategy fans.

    Our analysis

A worthy sequel that improves tactical combat and character variety but significantly reduces RPG depth and strategic complexity. Entertaining but not as authentic or engaging as the series classic.
