Our analysis

A disappointing departure from the destruction-heavy traveler's-tales Lego formula, this retelling of Horizon Zero Dawn feels joyless and aimless, struggling to identify who it is even for. The combat is the bright spot, translating Horizon's weak-point fights with real pep and a steady stream of recognizable machine beasts, though it may be too demanding for young kids. Everything else falters: repetitive roguelike-style mission structure, trivial one-button building, grating overwritten characters, and no reason to replay, leaving a gorgeous but hollow experience.

Our analysis

A gorgeous, light-hearted reimagining with genuinely fun, chaotic combat and one of the best-looking games on Switch, helped by a welcome shift in tone. It is undercut, however, by shallow, repetitive level design, a dull central hub, and severely limited stealth. Hard to recommend beyond dedicated Horizon and Lego fans, especially anyone who already owns the mainline games.

Our analysis

LEGO Horizon Adventures looks excellent and offers welcome couch co-op, but its linear levels repeat the same platforming, combat and boss encounters. The lack of variety makes the short adventure tedious, especially solo.
