A striking but heavily derivative Bloodborne-style soulslike loosely based on Pinocchio, with a surprisingly understandable story and a fun weapon-crafting system that lets you mix and match blades and handles. It is hampered by Sekiro Syndrome, where certain bosses clearly favor mastering perfect parries over dodging, and by typical soulslike fatigue, with thin enemy variety amounting to mostly dudes, sometimes with a dog, that eventually wears thin.

One of the best games of the year and a standout Souls-like from an unexpected studio. The city of Krat drips with atmosphere, the Baroque soundtrack is excellent, and the deep weapon assembly system plus the customizable Legion arm make combat smooth and endlessly tinkerable. Knocks include limited upgrade materials that prevent fully leveling many weapons, a few cheap unblockable boss moves, and too many undefined keywords and stats.
Overall, I can't recommend this game enough to anyone who's a fan of Souls likes. And even if you aren't, it's also a great entry point into the genre
