Our analysis

A side-scrolling RPG that bundles Lisa the Painful and Lisa the Joyful, distinguished by exceptional, choice-driven storytelling that juxtaposes the horrific and hilarious masterfully alongside strong world-building and an outstanding soundtrack. Combat is enjoyable thanks to unique enemies and hands-on combination moves. Movement feels sluggish and antiquated, the controls are functional rather than fluid, and a few forced narrative choices undercut the emphasis on player agency, but quality-of-life additions make this the definitive way to experience it.
