Little Nightmares II

A polished and atmospheric suspense-driven puzzle-platformer with gorgeous visuals, strong stealth sections, and a generous checkpoint system. The controls can feel clunky and it is quite short for the price, but it remains a nice, decent experience worth a buy even for someone who dislikes platformers.

A superb cinematic platformer that builds on the original with dread-soaked atmosphere, varied level design, and excellent sound and graphics. The companion character Six is woven in as a clever mechanic rather than true multiplayer, and the game's only real flaws are the imprecision and trial-and-error deaths inherent to the genre. A stylish, engaging treat from start to finish.

The downside is familiarity: the puzzles are simpler and the scares less novel, making it feel less memorable and impactful than the original, and the roughly five-hour runtime is short. Fans of the series will love the new locations and lore.

Occasional deaths from poor controls and flashlight targeting frustrate, but the tight, well-paced adventure is worth taking into the dark.

A highly recommended horror follow-up that is unforgettable, terrifying, and exceptionally well paced, packed with creative big moments and incredible atmosphere best experienced with headphones. Its main drawbacks are its brevity at around four to five hours and some finicky trial-and-error sections, particularly the awkward combat. The grander scale and weirder enemies heighten the existential dread, making it worth playing despite minor frustrations.
