Our analysis
Quirky card-based combat with distinctive art but limited strategic depth.

Our analysis
A charming action-adventure with a gothic, goofy world full of personality and a genuinely unique card-and-dice combat system that feels like little else. The quirky characters and inventive districts carry plenty of humor and heart, and exploration offers worthwhile detours. It is held back by stilted, overlong dialogue, choices that never affect the story, limited animation, combat that can drag, and the absence of any New Game Plus to revisit the fights.
