MechWarrior 5: Clans

Solid mech game with fun first hours but limited mission variety.

A fun, satisfying mech-combat experience that a clan-Mech fan can enjoy, though it feels like it could have shipped as DLC for Mercenaries rather than a full-price standalone. Combat is intense and rewarding, but it is riddled with bugs (co-op crashes, keybinds resetting every launch), needs better optimization, suffers cartoony graphics with off scale, and carries an unwelcome chore-like scanning mechanic plus boss fights that feel out of place.

Standalone sequel to MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries with major improvement: a full story campaign with cinematic cut scenes and narrative structure. Essentially same engine but now with compelling reason to engage. Story about Clan Smoke Jaguar invading Inner Sphere. Good presentation and interesting MechWarrior lore.
