Addictive blend of RTS, RPG, and Total War with tremendous depth. Crippling bugs in early access.
Our analysis
A hugely ambitious sandbox RPG and a clear step up from Warband, with sharper graphics, great atmospheric sound, deep character building, and emergent stories driven by trade, politics, voting, and large-scale battles. The immersion is off the scale, though the combat AI needs work and the early-access build is thin on quests and riddled with bugs. Even so, it's an absorbing time sink that's well worth buying and poised to become exceptional.
