After a rough 2016 launch, this has grown into a superb, constantly evolving space survival adventure, and the Switch 2 edition delivers it with greatly improved clarity and smoother performance close to last-gen consoles. The unmatched sense of exploration and atmosphere is the real draw, with the new Beacon settlement update adding welcome depth. Combat stays a bit naff and the systems can overwhelm early or feel simplistic to hardcore players, but it's an almost perfect port.
