A fine reimagining of a beloved but niche strategy game, with an addictive loop juggling staff meetings, city duties, and battles, plus a vastly expanded relationship system and simplified, far more accessible controls. The visuals are bland and a step down from the original's more colorful battle sprites, and Japanese-only voice acting feels odd, but the depth and variety offer hundreds of hours for the right player.
