Our analysis

A genuinely enjoyable mystery game that stays faithful to its source material, with satisfying deduction, evidence-linking, and mostly clever puzzles spread across six varied cases with multiple endings. Strong voice acting (especially Holmes) and varied locations hold up well despite the game's age, though clunky character movement, some frustrating minigames like arm wrestling, occasionally rushed case conclusions, and a steep price for an eight-year-old title hold it back. Recommended for fans of the character or mystery games generally.

Our analysis

An easy buy: a massive graphics update, mostly interesting cases with replayable clue deduction that never makes you feel dumb, and spot-on voice acting. Occasional vsync bugs, cramped locations and little side interactivity hold it back, but it is what past Sherlock Holmes games wished they were.
