Spyro: Year of the Dragon

A charming dragon platformer with adorable characters, a varied cast of unlockable playable heroes, and graphics plus controls that hold up remarkably well for a PS1 title. The thin story is forgivable, but combat and level design grow repetitive, the soundtrack is forgettably middling, and the auto-lowering difficulty robs boss fights of satisfaction. Collecting everything is addictive enough to redeem it.
