Our analysis

The biggest Mario Party yet, but also one of the least satisfying, burying its 110-plus minigames behind endless cutscenes, menus and dialogue while most modes feel reheated and indistinct. The board game's reliance on luck over skill, an uneven star economy, and gating clever boards behind tedious single-player busywork sap the fun. Jamboree Buddy showdowns are a rare bright spot, but the package is fine at best rather than enjoyable.

Our analysis

The best Mario Party entry yet, carefully elevating every aspect of the series with seven boards, a much higher standard of mini games, Jamboree Buddies, and a deep Pro Rules mode. The best-looking, smoothest Switch package in some time, with online features, a battle pass, and side modes woven in smoothly. Only minor faults, such as Pro mode being limited to 12-turn games and a few filler activities.

Our analysis

The best entry in the series, with the bulk of the fun coming from its huge, well-mixed roster of over 110 mini games spread across polished, vibrant boards. The board play, dynamic boards, customizable rule sets, and flawless 60fps presentation impress, though the inability to skip CPU turns, mandatory training sessions, occasional AI misbehavior, and only seven boards hold it back slightly. Ideal for families and groups, with value scaling heavily to how often you actually gather to play.

Our analysis

A flawed but enjoyable entry that tries to split the difference between its two Switch predecessors and stumbles into quantity over quality. The five new boards are the best original maps in years and the Jamboree Buddies system is a smarter, more limited take on the old ally mechanic, but most new minigames are merely fine, many side modes feel like bloat, and the headline 20-player Koopathlon falls flat. Still a riotous time once friends are in the room.

Our analysis

The biggest and best Super Mario Party game to date, with extensive content including pro rules for competitive play, numerous game modes, and universally great mini games. The reviewer praises the effort to appeal to series critics while maintaining what fans love.
