Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure

Our analysis

This Kickstarter revival of the FMV-driven Tex Murphy series keeps the franchise's lighthearted, pulpy detective charm and opens strong with intriguing amnesia-fueled mystery. It falters as the plot threads pile up confusingly and the design leans on tedious sliding-tile puzzles, instant-death stealth sections, and a low point of useless rooms and a spider maze. The result reminds you the series existed more than it reinvigorates it.
