Our analysis

A dire, emotionally heavy conclusion to the trilogy with a striking Don Bluth-inspired art style, an incredible and experimental soundtrack, and a deeply flexible, chess-like turn-based willpower combat system that consistently rewards strategy. Its narrative is unique and its battles sing, though weak combat sound, off-balance hard difficulty, heavy loading, and a few bugs hold it back slightly. A solid, heartfelt strategy title.

Our analysis

The Banner Saga 3 brings the trilogy to a satisfying conclusion with superb writing, breathtaking art and refined turn-based combat. Its short length, uneven wave battles and abrupt ending leave some flaws.

Our analysis

The Banner Saga 3 delivers a heavy, beautiful conclusion with fitting revelations and resolutions. Consequential choices, vulnerable characters and a desperate race against time create satisfaction amid the distress.
