Our analysis

A brutally challenging spiritual successor to Super Meat Boy that tightens the platforming and introduces a ledge-hang mechanic and an interconnected world where screen edges act as checkpoints, enabling clever backtracking and discovery. The hard-but-fair design mostly makes deaths feel deserved, marred only by an occasionally unreliable ledge-drop and tedious acidic water sections. With hundreds of collectibles, hidden levels, and a superb soundtrack, it's one of the best trial-and-death platformers in some time.
