Our analysis

Revisited after two and a half years, it has improved enough to flip from a thumbs-down to a thumbs-up, with better graphics, improved AI and pathfinding, far more crafting and building options, plus a story mode and co-op multiplayer. The atmosphere is genuinely immersive and unsettling, especially at night, and it offers strong value at its low price. It still disappoints by remaining in Early Access, and players will eventually run low on things to do once everything is built.
