It's a delightful audiovisual experience built from hand-modeled, scanned assets into stop-motion-esque gothic whimsy, with exceptional voice work, fitting music, and a clever eye-closing sound mechanic that shines in VR. The standout characters carry it, but the overarching story washes over you and the simple, repetitive fire-and-burn gameplay grows tiresome.
