One of the best world-building strategy games around, packed with deep, beautifully detailed production chains where you watch every resource mined, carried, and crafted step by step. Skirmishes against the AI are endlessly fun with abundant maps and a sizeable campaign, and the Gold Edition's mission-CD content is remarkable value. The AI quality varies depending on how it expands and multiplayer doesn't work on the GOG version, but at the price it is highly recommended.
