An island survival sandbox in the Escapists universe centered on a satisfying gathering-and-crafting loop where you train monkeys to automate work and even fight as overpowered guards while repairing a galleon to escape. The core loop, islands, and graphics are appealing, but clunky multi-action-on-one-key controls, buggy monkey behavior, and a thin, repetitive structure with no real reason to build defenses hurt it. At full price it asks too much for too little variety.
