Our analysis
This cel-shaded remake of the 2003 shooter is a marked improvement over the troubled 2020 release, with better image quality, improved audio, and solid gyro-assisted aiming, plus genuinely enjoyable up-to-four-player local split-screen. However, it fails to hit its promised 30fps on Switch, dipping into the mid-20s outdoors and hurting the single-player experience, while the dated mechanics and stealth show their age. Fun but flawed, and arguably overpriced at its launch cost.

Our analysis
The XIII Remake has made substantial improvements from its original state but still falls short compared to the original game; worth playing on sale but hampered by poor sound mixing, uninspired cinematics, and outdated aiming mechanics.
