Apex Legends

Apex Legends is a positive game with interesting mechanics and well-crafted systems.

A solid, well-made free-to-play battle royale that stands apart through clever mechanics: teammate respawns keep matches tense, the legend class abilities and rarity-based gear traits add depth, and the map and looting flow are thoughtfully designed. The big drawbacks are launching with three-player squads only (no solo or duo queue) and shield-balance issues that make armor luck and downed shields too decisive. Being free, it is easily worth trying despite a bare-bones launch.

The Switch port is a compromised experience with significant visual downgrades. NL gave it 5/10.
