A surprise Warner Brothers patch stabilizes the Switch port: the Switch 2 version now holds a steady 30fps, including the previously disastrous in-city driving, and load times are notably faster. However, the docked visual quality remains appalling and the promised handheld resolution bump is barely perceptible, while the Switch One version still runs terribly with severe frame drops and stutter. Even patched, it is a disgrace not worth picking up.
Our analysis
The PC port is condemned as effectively unplayable, shipping in a broken, poorly optimized state that fails to deliver acceptable performance. It is a release that cannot be recommended in its current condition.
Our analysis
A two-sided review: judged as a skill-based PC game it is a 30fps-locked, poorly optimized port with automated button-mashing combat and padded mini-games, but as an interactive Batman movie its slick fights, gliding and Batmobile are enjoyable.
Our analysis
A welcome but worn-out finale to the Arkham trilogy, with a tired plot recycling the same superhero beats and a disappointingly bland, monotone Scarecrow far weaker than his earlier appearance. The forced Batmobile tank combat feels like an interludial distraction from the still-solid sneaky-punchy gameplay, and the dozens of repetitive militia strongholds required for the true ending pad it out badly. A surprise third villain and the better story missions add some color, leaving it better than Origins and fun enough, if roughly 60 percent filler.
Our analysis
A slightly above-average and competent sequel rather than the franchise swan song it could have been. The console graphics, atmosphere and the psychological Joker subplot (with Mark Hamill) are standout highlights, but the Batmobile is badly overused into repetitive tank combat, the main villains are sidelined, the boss battles are weak, and the disastrous PC port drags it down further.
Our analysis
A near-flawless Batman simulator that looks genuinely next-gen on PS4, with a bigger, varied Gotham, improved gliding, satisfying combat, and a surprisingly excellent Batmobile. The story handles the Batman mythos with class and fan service. The main gripes are the awkward, forced Riddler car challenges and winch puzzles, plus a reportedly messy PC version, but the game itself is strongly recommended.

The campaign is Rocksteady's finest work with the deepest, most multifaceted depiction of Batman and Gotham ever presented in a video game. However, the excessive AR challenges taints the completionist experience.

A fantastic game that nails the gritty Gotham feel and delivers an incredible ending to the Arkham story. Despite PC port issues at launch, satisfying combat, compelling story, creative design.
