A triumphant, worthy sequel that revitalizes the crafting-gathering-combat life ecosystem for the modern cozy era, layering in a Breath of the Wild-style open world and an Animal Crossing-like terraformable village. The breadth of choices and freedom is exceptional and the quality-of-life upgrades make it far smoother than the original. That vast breadth comes at the cost of some depth and the distinctive weirdness that made the 3DS original so beloved, but it's a beautiful, robust, content-packed package.

A standout Switch 2 release blending life-sim and action-RPG depth, with a 14-class "lives" system, satisfying skill trees, and crossplatform online multiplayer that proves far bigger than a cozy sim. The Switch 2 version pushes to a near-locked 60fps with a sharper image and far faster 2-5 second loads, making it the best way to play despite occasional frame spikes. Huge content with light pacing drag in places, but consistently engaging and fun.
