Hitman 3

A great, atmospheric finale to the assassination trilogy with what are arguably the best Hitman missions ever made, especially the standout UK mansion and Berlin rave. The open-ended sandbox freedom makes it hugely replayable and a blast to mess around in. Held back by persistently poor AI and immersion-breaking bugs carried over from Hitman 2, plus a steep price for only six short levels, but a thumbs up overall.

A clear buy and a fantastic conclusion to the World of Assassination trilogy, with phenomenal value since prior maps carry over and import at little or no extra cost. The sandbox stealth gameplay is the star, offering enormous replayability and standout levels like the Dartmoor mansion murder mystery. The story is serviceable but forgettable, and the only real annoyance is intrusive server connection checks that interrupt play.

The cloud streaming version on Switch works surprisingly well for this mostly slow-paced game, with the gorgeous Dubai opener and varied missions translating impressively. Drawbacks are launch-day connection trouble, occasional stuttering and image blur, long load times, and finicky Joy-Con aiming, all dependent on having strong bandwidth.

A strong, satisfying conclusion to the World of Assassination trilogy that plays as more of a polished continuation than a true sequel. The maps are mostly excellent, with Dartmoor's murder-mystery scenario and the Berlin and Mendoza levels standing out, while the linear Carpathian Mountains finale and vent-heavy China map disappoint. Deep replayability and clever location mastery keep it compelling.

The cloud-streamed Switch version is technically impressive but flawed, with noticeable input latency, visible banding artifacts in gradients, and reliance on heavy aim lock-on to compensate. Handheld mode looks decent, but the experience is held back by the streaming dependency and the fact you never truly own the game. At roughly 52 pounds for finite rented access, it is not recommended.

Really just a new mission pack for the established formula, with a recycled, going-nowhere plot and only a handful of new missions that mostly tread familiar ground. The handheld, linear mission stories are the worst part and break immersion, but the game finally clicks once you ignore them and improvise your own assassinations in the dense, sprawling sandbox levels. Still hampered by the cock-up cascade and a constant need to save-scum, since one misstep cascades into chaos.

An excellent end to the World of Assassination trilogy, with six dramatically different and stunningly designed locations offering countless mysteries and creative approaches. The story reaches a gratifying conclusion and heavy replay incentives keep missions engaging long after the roughly eight-to-ten-hour campaign. It does not reinvent the formula, leaving room for more notable updates, but it remains a great entry point for newcomers.

The strongest entry in the World of Assassination trilogy, finally locking everything together with incredible, intricately designed sandbox levels and deeply satisfying, replayable assassination scenarios. The added thread of story and persistent shortcuts strengthen the experience, and the game is visually stunning, though the narrative payoff and flat cutscenes land as a disappointment. A smartly designed, content-rich package that rewards creative play.

Brilliantly closes out the trilogy by playing off everything that came before. Phenomenal design rewards mastery of complex levels. Continues to be great with all Hitman content in one place.
