Layers of Fear 2

A tense first-person psychological horror set aboard an ocean liner that leans on disturbing imagery, clever turn-around scares and outstanding binaural audio (with Tony Todd's voice work a highlight) to unsettle the player. The atmosphere sells it, though it is not as suffocatingly strong as the original, the story underwhelms, and there is an over-reliance on jump scares. The newly added enemy chase sections feel tacked on and clash with the slow, fiddly control scheme, but it is a solid port worth grabbing on a slight sale.
