A stunning return to form with exceptional visual fidelity, charming details, and engaging ghost-capturing gameplay. Overly easy combat and a lack of enemy variety hold it back slightly, but it stands tall as a Nintendo masterpiece alongside Super Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild.

A fantastic, visually stunning entry whose cutscenes and in-game animation rival a Pixar film, with each themed floor offering distinct creative set-pieces and memorable boss battles. The vacuum gameplay and the GUI G clone mechanic add real depth, and the world is oozing with charm. The one major low point is a frustrating water level with inverted, broken controls and an infuriating boss fight, and there is little to spend collected money on.

A graphical powerhouse and one of the most enjoyable, attractive Switch titles, with masterclass animation and richly varied themed floors. The boss ghosts are the highlight, brimming with personality and creative, challenging fights, and the puzzles grow cleverer as the game progresses. A small disappointment is that floors are siloed by the elevator, losing the interconnectivity of the original, but it stands as the undisputed high point of the franchise.

A fantastic first-party title with brilliantly high production values and all the lovable Nintendo charm, set across a lavish hotel where every themed floor is its own level with collectible gems and unique boss fights. Visuals are among the best on Switch with creative puzzles and excellent level design, and the drop-in co-op via GUI G is a highlight. The in-game shop is lackluster, but it comes highly recommended even for newcomers.

A polished but unremarkable ghost-hunting outing that feels routine and a bit hollow. The 15 floors each pack a unique boss, yet many fights are over too quickly, and the core suck-and-blow mechanics are fully unlocked early and never meaningfully evolve. Constant cash rewards pile up with almost nothing worthwhile to spend them on, and padding like the recurring cat chase drags out the runtime.

Easily the best entry in the series, overflowing with personality and a constant sense of discovery. Charming animation, outstanding music, and inventively themed floors keep each new area feeling fresh, while Gooigi adds clever co-op and puzzle depth. The twin-stick aiming takes adjustment and the shop is underwhelming, but the craft and creativity throughout make it a standout.
