Ratchet & Clank

A competent third-person action-adventure with combat, platforming, and puzzle bits, plus the series' trademark variety of wacky weapons. The challenge can be surprisingly stiff and a few mechanics grate, like weapons leveling through use. But as a reboot leaning on nostalgia for the very games it erases from canon, with a thin plot and a flat protagonist, its quality feels undercut by the circumstances around it.

Excellent platformer-shooter combining charm, creativity, and variety. Great presentation, fun gameplay loop, memorable characters, solid 14-hour campaign.
