7 of 7Repetitive sandbox with minimal content and no progression. Exhausts itself within 3-4 hours.
Not worth the full $60 retail price, but well worth trying via Game Pass for $10 or free — the game is gorgeous with incredible water effects and sound design, but it's empty, lacks progression or leveling, and the repetitive skeleton quests offer no challenge. The real fun comes from emergent player interactions and the chaos of chasing crews for treasure, so it shines with friends but feels hollow solo or for anyone without imagination.
Core sailing and pirate gameplay is fun with friends, but limited content at launch and grindy progression hold it back. Worth it for the social experience.
Shallow game with minimal content. Criticizes repetitive gameplay (quests = dig treasure or collect animals), pointless PvP, and cosmetic-only gold sinks. Graphics/art style praised but depth lacking.
Great first impression with thrilling exploration; quest variety quickly becomes tedious and repetitive.
Open seas and clear skies ahead. Still has work to do but worth embarking on for current and future pirate legends.
