2 of 2A catastrophic, disrespectful release that exploits fan nostalgia, plagued at launch by broken multiplayer, dreadful hit registration, rubber-banding, server problems, frequent crashes, and unplayable two-minute matches. The 62GB install dwarfs the originals, DLC characters like Kit Fisto are broken, half the campaign cutscenes are missing, and there's no crossplay or meaningful enhancement. With the modded originals available cheaply, there is no reason to buy this version under any circumstances.
A strong remaster of the two classic Battlefront games on Switch, with crisp visuals, solid audio, and a huge amount of fast-paced, enjoyable content across both titles. It runs at a steady 60fps in docked and handheld, and Aspyr added 64-player dedicated servers, though the online lifeblood depends on whether so few servers will sustain a playerbase. Minor gripes include no gyro support, a heavy-handed autolock, and an awkward first/third-person camera toggle in the sequel.
