Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

A glowing endorsement of this Nintendo Switch port of the Wii/PS2 rendition, praised for combat that still holds up thanks to standout force-physics that send enemies and debris flying. The dark, ruthless Starkiller storyline and arcade-style upgrade loop are highlights, and the included 27-character local dual mode is a welcome bonus. A different but worthwhile experience for those who only played the 360 version.

A shallow, short, and mediocre hack-and-slasher that leans heavily on Star Wars nostalgia. Combat feels weightless and floaty, force powers and combos are lackluster, enemies become damage sponges, and a fighting camera, intrusive QuickTime events, and uninteresting hallway-and-arena level design drag it down further. A decent story and strong, film-quality soundtrack are the bright spots, but they aren't enough to outweigh the weak gameplay, making this Switch port hard to recommend beyond a nostalgia trip.

A really fun if sometimes repetitive action game whose Switch port performs well, running at a rock-solid 60fps with motion controls that genuinely enhance the experience rather than feeling like a gimmick, the Force choke in particular standing out. The solid Starkiller-led story and excellent Star Wars audio are strengths, though the dated quick-time boss finishers, occasional camera issues, and a short six-hour campaign hold it back.

Wii version is watered-down mess held back by poor motion controls and inferior design compared to other platforms.
