  Our analysis

The original Zelda is playable with excellent dungeon design and revolutionary ideas, but suffers from cryptic progression, vague overworld guidance, and excessive busywork that makes it less timeless than its legacy suggests.

  Our analysis

A historically important classic that innovated the adventure game genre, but hasn't aged well for modern players. While the first half offers a decent sense of adventure, the second half suffers from unfair difficulty spikes and cryptic design that requires a guide to progress.
