Xenoblade Chronicles 3

A sprawling, monolithic JRPG that excels at onboarding newcomers and rewarding veterans, with jaw-dropping set pieces and environments that outclass its predecessors despite Switch hardware limits. The deep class and arts systems, tied tightly to story and exploration, are masterfully explained, and the music may be the best of the year. The HUD can be cluttered and the combat visually chaotic at first, but it's an absolute blast and absolutely worth getting.

An exceptional JRPG with an incredible cast, a compelling story that ties off the trilogy, and an outstanding, deeply layered combat system blending real-time action with tactical chains and class flexibility. The world is vast and beautiful and the audio is superb, though a slow 10-15 hour start, a few stretched chapters, some formulaic colony quests, and grating repeated voice lines are minor blemishes. One of the best RPGs available.

A phenomenal RPG with a one-of-a-kind sense of exploration, a grounded story with a strong cast, and a massive world whose design exceeds past entries. The optional Hero Quests are a genuine game changer, weaving meaningful side content into the world. The competent battle system is easy to grasp but feels exhausted and never truly challenges you, partly due to constant overleveling and a level-down option locked away until after the credits.

A massive, compelling JRPG with a unique sci-fi world, a self-contained and emotionally charged story about soldiers bred to fight and die, and satisfying, deep combat built on positioning, art-chaining, and Ouroboros fusions. The art direction, scale, and music are standout highlights. Weak points are messy, blurry graphics with tanking resolution, relentless tutorial popups, and grating repeated voice lines.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is a masterpiece that delivers an incredible experience and is one of the best games on Switch.
